Bortles to match up to $15k of all funds raised by Friday, Dec. 14 Jacksonville, FL – Jaguars QB Blake Bortles, alongside the Blake Bortles Foundation, has announced a fundraising campaign in support of Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office bailiff and mother of two, Cathy Adams, who passed away Sunday night following a car accident. Bortles will match up to $15k of all funds raised for Adams and her husband, former Marine and JSO Officer William Adams, and their two children through Friday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. and encourages the community to help meet this goal. “First responders play a vital role in our community every day,” said Bortles. “My foundation aims to ensure these men and women who strengthen and protect our communities are properly recognized and supported. Our thoughts and prayers are with William and his family during this challenging time.” The Blake Bortles Foundation encourages the entire Jacksonville community to come together to provide support and assistance to the Adams family. All funds will be used to ensure the Adams family may enjoy the holidays. Donations are being accepted online at www.blakebortlesfoundation.com/donate. Donors are encouraged to leave a message for the family in the box “Donation Message.” On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Adams family was returning home after Mandarin High School captured the 8A State Championship in Orlando when they were hit by a suspected drunk driver about 1:30am on Sunday, Dec. 9. Officer Adams remains in critical condition, while his two children sustained minor injuries.
