LEADING POSITIVE IMPACTS THROUGH THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY
NFL Quarterback, Blake Bortles, established the Blake Bortles Foundation in 2016 to give back to the Jacksonville and Oviedo communities. Blake is as committed off the field as he is on the field, focusing on two major areas for his philanthropic efforts:
Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) First Responders In addition to supporting these two specific areas in need, Blake enjoys sharing his love for football by passing on his experiences, knowledge, and skills through well-designed youth football camps with the assistance of high school and college coaches, and participating organizations. |
Throughout Blake's life he has always been aware of the vital and often unrecognized role that local public safety organizations play by putting others first each and every day. Blake is committed to recognizing these individuals and organizations who strengthen our communities and protect our citizens.
"I've always viewed these guys as the real heroes. Honestly, they are the ones people should be asking to take pictures with - all I do is throw a football." -Blake Bortles |
"During initial conversations about starting the foundation, we said we wanted to raise as much money as possible and have as much fun as possible while doing it.
And then give it all away. "

CJ and the Oviedo High School quarterback, took to each other right away forming what would be a life-long friendship. The bond between the two boys quickly developed into additional days shooting hoop together or just hanging out watching old football games. From there Blake went on to play football for the University of Central Florida and CJ stood by him as his biggest fan; adamantly telling anyone who would listen about Blake's accomplishments on the field.
