Jacksonville, Fla. – For every touchdown Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles scores this season, Momentum Transportation will donate $1,000 to the Blake Bortles Foundation to help children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), as well as support first responders.
“Since I joined the National Football League 4 years ago, I have tried to use my position to help others in our community and recognize our first responders for their selfless and brave service,” Bortles said. “A sincere and heartfelt thank you to Momentum Transportation for again teaming up with my Foundation to achieve this worthwhile goal. The financial support offered by Momentum will make a difference!”, Bortles added.
Momentum Transportation teamed with the Blake Bortles Foundation last season, but company president and CEO Brian Putzke, wanted to increase his company’s involvement and potential donation in 2017. So away games were added to his previous agreement with BBF.
For the 2017 season, all touchdowns scored by Blake Bortles through the air and on the ground, for home and away games will be included in Momentum’s generous donation.
“Momentum Transportation is honored to support the Blake Bortles Foundation,” said Putzke. “The funds donated to this worthwhile cause support organizations that are near and dear to our heart. Momentum has a longstanding history of partnering with local community foundations, and we are excited to continue our partnership with Blake.”
The Jacksonville Jaguars next game is Sunday in England against the Baltimore Ravens.
Jacksonville, FL – The Blake Bortles Foundation announced today that first responders will be able to eat for free starting tomorrow at three different Jacksonville area Jimmy John’s.
“We have all witnessed the brave and tireless work our community’s first responders have shown in recent days as they’ve responded to Irma. This is just a small way to show our appreciation and say thank you for their efforts and dedication to serving others,” said Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles.
Ellen and Philip Sheffield, owners of the three participating Jimmy John’s locations, say first responders in uniform or with an official badge will be able come in starting tomorrow, Friday Sept. 15th through Sunday Sept. 17th and enjoy a free sandwich, chips and a drink.
“We are happy to partner with the Blake Bortles Foundation to show fire fighters, police offices and all first responders that have our backs, that we have their backs,” said Ellen Sheffield.
