The Blake Bortles Foundation in partnership with BodyTech Performance hosted a FREE youth non- contact football performance camp for boys and girls ages 8 – 14 on Saturday, April 21, 2018. 350 campers attended Saturday’s camp held in Blake Bortles hometown of Oviedo, FL at the Oviedo High School football fields. Campers from as far south as Miami, FL drove up to attend camp with Bortles on Saturday. Oviedo area high school coaches and BodyTech Performance trainers lead campers through traditional football drills and activities, with Bortles assisting throughout the morning. “This is where I grew up. I was one of these kids 20 years ago and would have killed to be able to do something like this. It’s still something that’s surreal and something I may not be able to get used to: to be able to put a smile on a kid’s face with just a high five. For these kids to have someone who grew up here and played here and became an NFL player, I think it gives them all the optimism to be able to do the same thing and strive for their goals in whatever field it may be. I hope I do that for them,” quoted Bortles upon arriving to camp Saturday morning. The camp would not be possible without the incredible support from partners such as BodyTech Performance, Jewett Orthpaedic Clinic, Atticus Printing, Jacksonville Jaguars, and numerous community volunteers.
