Jacksonville, FL (June 11, 2018) – The Blake Bortles Foundation hosted the 3rd Annual JaxPAL Football Camp last Saturday, June 9th in Jacksonville, Florida. This year, nearly 400 kids ages 5-16 rushed the Jacksonville Police Athletic League (JaxPAL) Football Fields at Ed Austin Park to practice their skills and play with the pros.
The physical trainers from Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute teamed up with the officers from the JaxPAL to create a series of stations for each group of kids to learn agility, strength, and strategy. Bortles and fellow Jacksonville Jaguars ran drills, played catch, and taught skills to the kids during the 3.5 hour camp. Players in attendance included Malik Jackson, Marqise Lee, Cody Kessler, Keelan Cole, D.J. Chark Jr., Donte Moncrief, and Shane Wynn. The campers had time for autographs and photo ops with the players between stations.
A special thank you goes to over 100 volunteers from the Jacksonville area kept the camp running smoothly. A post-camp lunch was provided to each camper by Firehouse Subs and Carrabba’s provided a free meal to all volunteers the evening prior to the camp start.
